    Governors State University presents the South Chicago Dance Theatre

    Governors State University presents The Center Southland Spotlight

    Experience the magic of musical theatre in The Center Southland Spotlight—a showcase of the best Southland community theatres and their 2025–26 season selections. The afternoon will feature song and dance from the region’s most talented performers, offering a sneak peek into the productions that will light up the Southland stage this year. Along with previews of what’s ahead, audiences will also enjoy a few highlights from the best of recent past seasons. From show-stopping solos to dynamic duets, it’s a celebration of local artistry and community spirit—bringing together the best of the Southland for one unforgettable night. 

    The show will include show-stopping numbers from Dreamgirls, Ragtime, Little Shop of Horrors, Cabaret, Hairspray, and more!

    MANDI THEATRE presents the 9th Annual Multilingual Theater Festival


    With an aim to promote the interrelation between artistic and technological languages, MANDI THEATRE will soon bring in the 9th edition of 'Annual Theatre Festival', to be held from 24th thru 26th Oct. 2025

    Held each year in collaboration with The Consulate General of India and partly funded by Illinois Arts Council Agency, this festival features community theatres from various states across the USA.

Alka Sharma

Alka Sharma is the Founder and Director of Mandi Theater, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promote Indian theater to the American community at large. Passionately immersed in the world of theater, she has won several acting accolades as an amateur artist both in India and abroad. A strong patron of the arts, Alka has been active in Indian Theatre since her school and college days, where she acted and directed several short plays. She has directed and acted in lead roles in multiple successful productions. She and her team also bagged many awards in the field of Theatre and Community Service, and has been strengthening the Indian roots in the USA.
