All-State Weekend Attendance Policies
Because we have such limited time to mount this show, all rehearsals and builds for each group (cast, crew, orchestra) or the full company are paramount, and attendance is mandatory when called. All-State company members who must miss rehearsal for illness, emergency, or events outside of their control will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.
-
Please note that conflicts cannot always be accommodated. Missing rehearsals may result in changes to your role, job, or position within the company—or, in some cases, removal from the production altogether. If you are excused from a rehearsal due to a reported conflict and it is later discovered that the conflict was not truthful, a meeting will be held to determine appropriate consequences, which may include removal from the company.
-
Students will not be required to miss a school day in the fall in order to attend rehearsal if their school is in session during scheduled rehearsals.
-
Students who live more than 2 hours away will be released earlier than students who live within 2 hours of the host school to allow for excess travel.
-
On the audition application, all students (Cast, Crew, and Orchestra) will submit a schedule conflict sheet, which includes any mandatory school events that require your attendance.
-
-
These conflicts may affect your ability to be selected for the All-State company. We understand that you may have an important game, concert, family event, etc.
-
Please talk to your teachers, directors and parents BEFORE you audition. Anything that falls on a rehearsal day must be listed as a conflict.
-
Please also list the time you need to be absent. Missing a couple hours is very different than a whole day or weekend and could affect our casting or selection decisions.
-
Inclement weather shall be considered to ensure the safety of the All-State company; this may result in the alteration of a rehearsal schedule.
-
Missing rehearsal for religious holidays is permissible, but dates and times must be communicated as a conflict in advance. No conflicts will be honored for rehearsals in December and January.
