The 5 Challenges to Your Theatre
in the Post-COVID World

A Webinar presented by Patrick Hardy,
CEO of Hytropy Disaster Management
Sponsored by the Community Theatre Division
of the Illinois TheatreAssociation

Tuesday, March 30, 2021
at 7:00 to 8:30 pm

The end of the pandemic seems to be at hand, but that doesn't mean the challenges to our theatre operations are not. COVID-19 has fundamentally changed the operational character of how we will operate as theatre managers and provide a safe venue to the public. Furthermore, other disasters such as floods, fires, and security issues will remain a constant threat that we must account for during our disaster preparedness. This webinar will help your theatre identify these challenges and focus on real-life solutions that you can implement quickly and effectively.

THESPIAN SPIRIT WEEK

Thanks to both the Illinois Thespian Society and the Illinois Theatre Association for their joint endeavour in making Theatre In Our Schools (TIOS) Month happen!  Every week we will send out suggestions for how you and your students can help support and promote TIOS.

The theme for this week is THESPIAN SPIRIT WEEK!!

Consider:

  • Having your thespians/theatre students send in photos of them wearing their favorite school show shirts!

    • Tag @illinoisthespians, @edta, @ILthespians, @illinoistheatreassociation on instagram/twitter

    • Use the hashtags

      •  #tios2021

      • #Theatreinourschoolsmonth

      • #ILthespians

      • #ITA

  • Make a creative, in-depth display set up in your high school/community center showing the positive effects of high school theatre participation in general as well as including specific examples from your own troupe and incorporate works like empathy, creativity, collaboration, critical thinking.

    • Video/slideshow to share with other members or your school

    • Share with your school board

  • Send a press release!

  • Plaster your school (virtually and in person) with the TIOS poster:  https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LJomnfhkb71k8XLFKyKNaYDOYer6A7t2/view?usp=sharing

  • Have your thespian troupe create a TIK TOK to a favorite musical theatre song, and try to make it go VIRAL

  • Thespian Troupe? Apply to be eligible for the Outstanding Impact Award!
