Franz Kafka is one of the most important writers of the 20th century. In his stories and ordinary people in often fantastical situations attempt to navigate their way through incomprehensible networks of bureaucracy and power. Though virtually unknown during the time he was alive, the Czech writer’s influence has been so universal that it’s not unusual to hear situations described as Kafka-esque. In this devised piece of theater, we turn to Kafka’s shorter writings - parables and aphorism – as jumping off points towards new truths of our equally absurd and alienating period of life.
