In Hazlehurst, MS, the three Magrath sisters have gathered to await news of their grandfather, who is living out his last hours in the local hospital. Lenny, the oldest, is facing diminishing marital prospects; Meg, the middle sister, is back home after a failed singing career; while Babe, the youngest, is out on bail after having shot her husband. Under the scorching heat of the Mississippi sun, past resentments bubble to the surface as each sister must come to terms with the consequences of her own “crimes of the heart.”

MAJOR NEWS: Playwright Beth Henley will be in residence for selected performances of the play. Kevin and Beth will have a post show discussion and Beth will meet/greet the audience in the lobby after the performance and sign copies of her play.
